a apresentação do livro de Edgardo Pacheco - os 100 Melhores Azeites de Portugal - já aconteceu no final do ano passado, mas para se provarem ou comprarem os melhores azeites (bem como o fantástico livro, claro!) vamos ainda muito a tempo!

a apresentação teve lugar no Oliva & Co - uma loja no Porto especializada em azeite, onde pode fazer degustações e aprender tudo sobre azeite - e contou a com a presença do Chef Rui Paula que apresentou um prato elaborado em torno do azeite, bem como com uma masterclass de azeite, seguida de prova, por Francisco Pavão.

e no final ninguém saiu com dúvidas - os melhores azeites do mundo estão mesmo em Portugal!

the presentation of the book by Edgardo Pacheco - the 100 best olive oil from Portugal - took place already by the end of last year, but we are always on time to taste or buy the best olive oils (as well as to buy the fantastic book, of course!)

presentation took place at Oliva & Co - a shop in Porto specialised in olive oil, where you can go for tastings and learn everything about olive oil - and had the presence of Chef Rui Paula who offered a dish made with olive oil, and a masterclass on olive oil followed by a tasting, by Francisco Pavão.

at the end there was no doubt, the best olive oil in the world are in Portugal!

hidden spots in Porto - @O Pretinho do Japão

o Pretinho do Japão é uma loja mítica do Porto - existe desde 1947 - e muito conhecida essencialmente por vender, entre vários outros produtos de mercearia fina, bacalhau e café. 

até aqui não há novidade.

o que muita gente provavelmente ainda não descobriu é que o Pretinho do Japão tem agora (desde Agosto 2016) uma belíssima e acolhedora esplanada, escondida no pequeno jardim das traseiras, e onde pode e deve entrar para uma refeição ligeira ou um simples chá ou café.

Pretinho do Japão is an ancient and mythical shop in Porto- it exists since 1947 - and well known for selling, among fine grocery products, specially coffee and codfish.

well, that is not new.

but what most people probably don't know is that O Pretinho do Japão has now (since August 2016)  a nice and cosy  hidden backyard garden, where you should go for a light meal or simply for a cup of tea or coffee.

5th anniversary Velo Culture @Manifesto

quem me conhece e segue por aqui já sabe, sou uma bike lover. e apesar de continuar a pedalar por aí com a minha bicicleta velhinha velhinha, gosto mesmo de ver bicicletas bonitas. pode ser que 2017 seja o ano de comprar uma nova:)

e por isso lá fui, no passado sábado, ao quinto aniversário da Velo Culture, uma das lojas que mais gosto para bicicletas e acessórios (e sobre a qual já fiz alguns posts) - e que festejou não na sua própria loja, mas na sede dos vizinhos, ali no Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos, mais precisamente na Galeria Bar Quiosque recentemente aberta -  o Manifesto, um espaço que se não conhece, tem mesmo de conhecer.

the first happy story from Bio & Natural, the space that exists at El Corte Inglês Gaia Porto, and where we can find a huge amount of brands dedicated to the organic production, with special highlight to brands from small producers - is about...bread!

delicious, simple, with great variety, and a food which is 100% healthy only if eaten organic and handmade produced.

that is the case of Pão Nosso, the brand created by Filipe Melo, giving name to the bread he produces since 2013, and due to a huge success, made him open last November 2016 the first organic grocery shop, where the bread is king.

the bread Pão Nosso can be bought at Bio & Natural as well, but due to a logistic issue, interview took place at Filipe's new space, which was good so we have the opportunity to get to know the grocery shop Pão Nosso.

Anselmo 1910 & Ricardo Pereira collection (men's collection)

Anselmo 1910 é uma joalharia centenária com origem em Torres Vedras, contando atualmente com 5 lojas no país, sendo uma delas na Baixa do Porto. (as restantes são em Torres Vedras e Lisboa).

no passado dia 13 de Dezembro, a Anselmo 1910 apresentou no Porto a primeira coleção de jóias para homem, criada em parceria com o actor Ricardo Pereira.

last 13 December, Anselmo 1910 presented in Porto its first jewellery collection for men, created in a partnership with the actor Ricardo Pereira.

this is a real historical moment - the 100 years celebration, full of history and tradition.

I am speaking about the well known grocery shop that has portuguese traditional products called "Comer e chorar por Mais" located at Rua Formosa - who doesn't know it?? :) - which celebrated yesterday the 19th October its 100 anniversary, offering cake and a lot of typical products to taste.

I was there to celebrate with them!

North Cafe Rides is open since last July, and wants to be a meeting point for motorcycle lovers, with a bar for some snacks, a store with accessories, and of course, the opportunity to take a super nice retro moto and have a ride until Douro region, Gerês, Trás-os-Montes....

I did my own ride around Porto and really loved it!! :)

Chiadu Terrace - it's boho chic!

para os amantes de alimentação saudável e biológica, abriu uma loja imprescindível e que faltava no grande Porto - a Bio & Natural - uma loja com uma ampla gama de marcas dedicadas à produção biológica, especialmente de pequenos produtores nacionais, com espaço também para produtos frescos e congelados, e a possibilidade de se comprar cereais e frutos secos a granel.

a loja fica dentro do supermercado já existente do El Corte Inglês de Gaia, ocupando um espaço amplo, bonito e muito apelativo.  e a verdade é que apetece comprar tudo!:)

for lovers of healthy and bio food, it just opened in Porto one shop shop that was missing in Porto area - Bio & Natural - a shop with a wide range of brands dedicated to bio products, specially from small national producers, with place also for fresh and frozen products, and the possibility to buy cereals and nuts in bulk.

the shop is inside the existing supermarket from El Corte Ingês Gaia, occupying a wide, nice and so attractive corner. and the truth is that you want to buy everything! :)

in love with the vintage - Mão Esquerda, Second Hand's First

na zona mais turística do Porto, e ao lado de um dos ex libris da cidade - a torre dos Clérigos - pode agora experimentar uma mistura explosiva (e controversa) de dois produtos não menos típicos portugueses - um bolinho (eu digo bolinho, há quem diga pastel:) de bacalhau (feito com a receita tradicional) e recheado com queijo da serra.

at the most touristic area of porto, and close to one of the ex libris of the city - Clérigos tower - you can now try one explosive mixture ( and contrivers) of two typical portuguese products - the codfish pastry ( with traditional recipe) filled with portuguese cheese from Serra da Estrela.
