isto sim, é um verdadeiro feito histórico - celebrar 100 anos, cheios de história e muita tradição.
falo da icónica loja de produtos tradicionais portugueses "Comer e Chorar por Mais", situada na Rua Formosa - quem não conhece?? :) - que acabou de festejar o seu centésimo aniversário ontem, dia 19 de Outubro, com bolo e muitas iguarias típicas para livre degustação.
eu fui até lá comemorar também :)

this is a real historical moment - the 100 years celebration, full of history and tradition.
I am speaking about the well known grocery shop that has portuguese traditional products called "Comer e chorar por Mais" located at Rua Formosa - who doesn't know it?? :) - which celebrated yesterday the 19th October its 100 anniversary, offering cake and a lot of typical products to taste.
I was there to celebrate with them!

fundada em 1916, a loja vai já na terceira geração, que prima por continuar a manter a qualidade e a tradição dos melhores produtos que se fazem em Portugal: queijos, fumados, compotas, enchidos, pães, vinhos, produtos sazonais como castanhas e outras frutas, .....enfim, uma perdição, e produtos que vão estando regularmente em degustação para quem entrar na loja.
a loja era, no tempo das ex-colónias portuguesas, uma das poucas mercearias que fornecia o resto do país com produtos oriundos desses países distantes, como o açafrão da Índia, o café de África, etc...

founded in 1916, the shop is owned now by the third generation, who maintains the quality and the tradition of having the best products that are produced in Portugal, like cheese, ham, wines, jams, breads, and seasonal fruit,...well, everything so good, and these products are regularly available for tasting if you visit the shop.
the place was, by the time of the former portuguese colonies, one of the few groceries serving the rest of the country with products that came from those distant places, like saffron from India, coffee from Africa, ....etc...
