Série: Gente Empreendedora do Porto - I

PT

Ana Neto and Joana Sousa Lima - responsible for SPOT - are my first guests for this serie Entrepreneur People from Porto - serie where I intend to highlight people with interesting projects, but above all, people who make Porto happen.
SPOT was born in 2008, with the aim to work the cultural urban context of Porto.
With it, some emblematic projects came to life: Fleamarket (who doesn't know Fleamarket??, o Música na Rua, De Festa em Festa, Ponto Verde and the use of community gardens, Os Pratos em Volta....and for sure there are some more news coming soon.
I could have photographed them at Fleamarket, which is for sure the most well known event that they organize - and that stirred the city's life, creating new habits to the inhabitants by highlighting the opportunity of buying and selling second hand products. But I just decided to talk to them at one of the Lada's Garden, a garden which, with the support of  the City Council, they gave life to community use. ( the same happened to a garden in Vitória, S. Nicolau and Sé).

and it is a place that both, Ana and Joana, are fond, because they appreciate a way of life close to the earth.

ENG
"our basic idea is always the same:
braving the city, to work with the city. Be it in a cave, in a corner, in a place to be found...."

o sítio que mais gostas no Porto? (favorit spot in Porto?)
- o Passeio das Virtudes e o Cemitério Prado Repouso.

e gostas do Porto porque...? (and you like Porto because...?)

ENG
- I like Porto because it is my safe harbour, it is the place where I always want to come back, and that, besides all transformations that it has been living, it is still faithful to itself (and I hope it will always be). I like the strength of the granite - people say Porto is grey, but I like Porto for its colours.

o sítio que mais gostas no Porto? (favorit spot in Porto?)
- the view from Ponte da Arrábiba, starting in Massarelos.

e gostas do Porto porque...? (and you like Porto because...?)

ENG
- I like Porto for the sea and for the river, for downtown as well as Foz, for the fish and the francesinhas...
above all I like the north wind, fresh and airy; there is still place in Porto to breath and to do new things.
