e hoje, a minha convidada é a Julieta Guimarães - fundadora da companhia Erva Daninha, uma companhia de circo contemporâneo, e que tem andado por aí a agitar e animar as ruas da cidade. quem não ouviu recentemente falar do Trengo? um festival que esteve ainda há bem pouco tempo connosco, com pouso fixo nos jardins do Palácio de Cristal, mas que espalhou magia um pouco por toda a cidade.

and today, my guest is Julieta Guimarães - founder of Erva Daninha - a contemporary circus company, which has been animating the city's streets, leaving nobody indifferent. who hasn't heard of Trengo? a festival that has been with us very recently, with fixed address at Palácio de Cristal gardens, but spreading magic all over the city.

A Erva Daninha foi um dos projetos criadores da Fábrica da Rua da Alegria (no ESMAE).
no Porto fazem vários espetáculos, em várias ruas e em diferentes teatros, como o Teatro Nacional de S. João, o Teatro Municipal do Porto, Teatro Helena Sá e Costa, entre outros.
para além do Porto, viajam um pouco por esse Portugal fora e também pelo estrangeiro.
atualmente, a Erva Daninha é a companhia residente do Teatro do Campo Alegre.
"a Erva Daninha surgiu em finais de 2005. eu e um amigo (Gilberto Oliveira), ambos ex-alunos do ESMAE (escola superior de música, artes e espetáculo) tínhamos muita vontade de fazer espetáculo de palhaço. na altura, esta técnica não era muito bem vista mas nós resolvemos arranjar um nome subversivo que transmitisse a ideia de que não queríamos ir com a corrente....e assim nasceu a Erva Daninha".
"o projeto foi crescendo, e com a sua continuidade acabámos por abraçar outras áreas do circo, como o malabarismo, entre outras.
em 2011, convidei o Vasco Gomes para a direção artística, e, juntamente comigo, partilhamos desde aí a direção da companhia".

Erva Daninha was one of the founders of Fábrica da rua da Alegria (at ESMAE), and in Porto, they do a lot of shows, on the streets but also at different theatres, like Teatro Nacional S. João, Teatro Municipal do Porto, Teatro Helena Sá e Costa, among others.
besides Porto, they travel around Portugal and even abroad.
at the moment Erva Daninha is the resident company at Teatro do Campo Alegre.
"Erva Daninha was born in 2005, back when I and a friend (Gilberto Oliveira), both ex ESMAE students (school of music and arts), had a great will to do clown show. at the time, that technique was not so well seen, so we decided to find out a name that could make people understand that we were not following the chain. and so we got the name Erva Daninha".
"project went growing, and soon we embraced other aereas that we can see at the circus, like malabarism, among others.
in 2011, I invited Vasco Guimarães for the artistic direction, as well as to the company direction with me".

O melhor do Porto, ou gostas do Porto porque?
O que mais gosto no Porto é das pessoas e da paisagem.
as pessoas são duras, fortes, diretas, e têm um humor muito irónico e especial que lhes dá carácter e seriedade.
a paisagem do Porto é marcante, como uma fotografia bem tirada, uma boa mistura entre história e modernidade.
Se não vivesses no Porto, imaginas-te a viver onde?
não me imagino a viver noutra cidade, apenas temporariamente a viajar.
Um sonho?
tenho tantos sonhos, sou uma sonhadora. Acho sempre que vou conseguir tudo ou pelo menos não desisto enquanto não consigo. (deve ser do signo :)
profissionalmente poderia dizer que o meu sonho é criar a Estufa - uma incubadora de circo.
pessoalmente, ser vegan e fazer férias :)

What I most like in Porto are the people and the view.
people are strong, direct, and they have a peculiar humour, ironic and special which gives them character and seriousness.
the views in Porto are outstanding, as very good picture, with a mixture of history and modernity.
If you were not living in Porto, where do you imagine you could be living?
I do not imagine myself living anywhere else, only temporarily travelling.
A dream?
I have a lot of dreams, I am a dreamer. I always believe i will get what I want, or at least I do not give up until I get it. (must be due to the zodiac sign :)
professionaly, my dream is to creat Estufa - a circus incubator.
personally, my dream is to be vegan, and to go on holiday :)
