viver o Porto: A Rota - pop up dining

A Rota - Pop Up Dining teve lugar no passado fim-de-semana, (sexta e sábado) tendo eu ido no sábado, em noite de chuva torrencial.

a chuva apenas impediu que o evento tivesse sido ao ar livre, como estava previsto e com alguma pena, pois o local escolhido para essa noite era um dos novos spots no Porto com fantásticas vistas sobre a cidade.

mas contra o tempo não há nada a fazer, e com bons vinhos (Niepoort e Quinta da Carolina), boa comida (preparada a 4 mãos por 2 jovens chefs) e bom ambiente, tudo acabou por estar 5 estrelas.

A Rota - Pop Up Dinig took place last weekend, (friday and saturday) and I chose to ton on saturday, on a rainy heavy night.

the rain only prevented the event to happen outside, as it was supposed to, and it was somehow a pity, as the chosen place for that evening was one of the new spots in Porto with great views.

but against the weather there is nothing we can do, and with good wines (Niepoort and Quinta da Carolina), good food, (prepared 4 hands by two young chefs) and nice people around there is nothing we couldn't solve, and everything was 5 stars.

A Rota é um evento levado a cabo pelos Reubicados Colectivo, uma associação gastronómica com alma nómada que procura unir através da gastronomia diversas culturas, e que desta vez escolheu o Porto para se dar a conhecer. (antes, já tinha estado em Barcelona e Berlim)

no sábado, o evento teve lugar no rooftop do recentemente inaugurado Porto Coliseum Hotel, hotel situado mesmo ao lado do Coliseu do Porto, e que lá no seu alto tem umas vistas espectaculares. (em breve, no blog)

A Rota is organised by Reubicados Colectivo, a foodie association with a nomad soul, intending to gather different cultures through the food. this time they chose Porto to let themselves get known (before they have been in Barcelona and Berlin).

on saturday, event took place at the rooftop of the newest Hotel in Porto - Porto Coliseum Hotel - located right close to Coliseu, and having on the top a wonderful terrace with great views. (soon on the blog)

fui espreitar a cozinha, onde estava Laila, chef de origem asiática a viver em Barcelona, que juntamente com o Diogo (chef do restaurante Traça) foram os responsáveis pelas iguarias preparadas e servidas ao longo da noite. hummm, e estavam boas....:)

I went to have a look in the kitchen where I met Laila, a Chef from Asia living in Barcelona, who together with Diogo (Chef at Traça restaurant) were both responsible for the dinner. hummm, and it was good.....:)

Linda Silva, espanhola a viver em Barcelona, é uma das organizadoras do evento, juntamente com Carmelo, também espanhol mas a trabalhar na Niepoort Vinhos, em Portugal.

Linda Silva, from Barcelona is one of the organisers, together with Carmelo, also from Spain, but working at Niepoort wines in Portugal at the moment.

o jantar terminou com uma prova cega de vinhos, e, felizmente, com a trégua da chuva que permitiu dar um saltinho à varanda, mas que só serviu para aguçar a vontade de voltar lá de dia e com bom tempo....

dinner ended with a blind tasting, and with a pause by the rain, which allowed us to go outside for a while and to increase my will to go back there on a sunny day....
